Many of us
are finding it more and more necessary to self-isolate for a variety of
reasons. General wellbeing, vulnerability, advice from work or the government
whatever it is, it’s a new experience which for some can be quite daunting.
Many of us are so used to the daily commute to and from work, the hustle and the bustle of the train, tube, bus or car that without it we become lost.
On the one hand
there’s the opportunity to gain some quality time out for self and on the other
hand, there’s that what am I going to do with all this time? Now truth be told
having to go into self-isolation doesn’t have to be a bad thing however a lot
will depend on the perspective you bring with you.
Will there
be outstanding jobs to do around the house? I’ll guess that’s a resounding YES, however, I would suggest not to get too bogged down with keeping yourself busy.
Instead, map out how you can invest this time in creating a new improved version
of self, mentally, physically, spiritually and financially.
Use this
time to be still, we tend to forget that happiness doesn’t come from getting
something we don’t have, but rather recognising and appreciating all that we do
have and have access to. Take some time to write a list of all the things and
people you’re grateful for. If you feel bold enough pick up the phone and speak
to these individual’s, avoid the temptation of simply sending a message.
Life and our
current circumstance have introduced the equivalent of a pause/reset button. Pressing
that button in life’s journey does not mean that nothing is happening. In
reality, it is a divine opportunity to be present and catch up with all that is
going on in us, to us and around us.
When we
learn to PAUSE, to be
still, shut down and stop our movement just long enough to check ourselves, we
open the door to begin to receive the answers to the questions that have eluded
us. We become at one with our thoughts and minimise the raging battle in our
mind. Thus, experiencing oneness in mind, body and soul.
With many of
us having to self-isolate are you ready to make the change?
