Are you living with Intention?

Intention – A desire to carry out an act

So many of us just go through life without any real intention, direction or focus. We basically follow the status quo. As parent's our intention is to provide the best learning environment for our children’s success. As student’s the intention is to use what they learn to further their goals for the future. As teacher’s the intention is to provide the best possible learning opportunities and outcomes for their students.

For the majority, it’s going to school to get an education. Followed by college/6th form to further that education culminating in going to university to acquire the all important degree. If everything pans out well next stop J.O.B. Is that all there is? Our time here on earth is too precious to live our lives on autopilot without any true purpose, meaning or intention.

Therefore, I suggest that we all take a moment to renegotiate our intention for what we will do with the time we have left. Wouldn’t it be great to wake up each morning and choose how you will spend each and every day? Making decisions like what time you want to get up, how you will exercise and when, what food you’ll eat, with whom and where, whether you’ll work from home or go into the office.

How about taking it one step further and choosing your thoughts knowing that they create your feelings and by focusing on all that is positive you’re able to see and seize opportunities as they appear improving how you feel on a regular basis.

Allow me to suggest a few tips to help you on your way.

Dream Big

Create a clear concise mental picture in your mind as to what your ideal life would look and feel like. Resist the temptation to work out the how, instead focus on what you’ll be doing, where you’ll be living, and who you’re spending your time with.

Be present.

Be wholeheartedly engaged in what you are doing and what is going on, right here, right now, physically, mentally, spiritually and emotionally. When you consider that 90% of our thoughts are exactly the same repetitive thoughts as the day before and about 70 - 80% are negative, it makes sense to introduce an affirmation that keeps you present. “Everything is going to work out for my highest good.”

Discover your values

Knowing what’s important to you can steer you in the right direction for each and every decision that you may need to make. When your values are aligned with your higher self, your quality of life will radiate all that is conducive to living life on your own terms.

Appreciate your uniqueness.

Do you know and appreciate that you are a unique one of one? That you are a combination of limitless potential waiting to be unleashed. When you truly appreciate your special characteristics there is no need for feeling bad about being different, no need to play small and no need to compare yourself to anybody else.  Be you, Be bold, Just do it!!

Be prepared to be challenged

It’s natural to feel some level of fear and self-doubt when deciding to live your life with Intention, whilst examining your life, your choices, and your routines. But know that any form of resistance is a sign that you’re on the right path, heading toward your higher self. Feel the fear and do it anyway.

Activate

Aligning your values and your goals with your actions is a good indication that you’re on the right path. Ensure that everything you do from this day forward is in agreement with your blueprint for your new life. It’s time for lift-off, start your countdown and activate your new life with Intention.
